> I have played with the POP and SMTP with little to no luck. You mean POP3 and SMTP over TLS with IMail? Playing with that is not going to get you anywhere--it just isn't supported. > I have however asked Ipswitch to put in an RFP for thi feature. I believe they do their development in-house. > I along with a few others like secure mail services. We like them fine. Of course, wildcard *incoming* mail will not be secure, but you knew that. Both endpoints need to be committed to security; in general, digital certificates are much easier to implement, since they can be implemented gradually at the user level. With full cooperation and adequate budget, end-to-end TLS can be accomplished between entities, and at that point IMail's shortcomings would not make it a good fit. > They should allow SSL and have been researching this. "Should" is in the mind of the vendor, and I know they have a lot of stuff on their plate (like, say, spam control). > Anyone have any knowledge of this let me know! See http://stunnel.org for a well-regarded multiprotocol TLS gateway. You can also use an MS SMTP server for SMTP over TLS. -Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------ ______________________________________________________________________ The HKSI-IMail Admin List is hosted by........
