The thing is.... I have this problem recently and I don't think it has anything to do with mailbox size. It may have to do with fragmentation though. I restrict to 20MB per box. The issue I am seeing goes away when I disable Imail monitoring service. The monitoring service thinks the webmail is down and tries to restart it and sends it into conniptions. I have disabled it to test if that would help and has stopped webmail crashing. I have watched the task manager and it does indicate that it is web messaging that is doing it.
