In the last incident I dealt with on this issue the problem was
actually a case of "id10t" on the AOL users part. The message
was actually there but in attachment format. This took jumping
through a lot of hoops and putting on a dog and pony show
to illustrate to the AOL user how to use their software which
was not really my problem. I still think it was the plain text issue
that fixed it because I could send a message to the same AOL
user in plain text format and they got it, however our user was
sending the message in HTML format and they were saying the
message was blank. The HTML and stuff was in an attachment
on the message.

I could find out about the reply to issue with the customer, what, if you
can recall is the issue and I will bring it up with the customer...because,
this is a one person issue, no one else that I know of is having an issue
with AOL....it is driving me nuts....I hate these strange one off problems
