Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] New user setup
questions
Joe,
That
is a error of smtp security. You need to disable security or have valid
return address or have valid ipaddress defined in smtp.
Have
a look at in knowledge base on ipswitch.
Thanks

Pardon my greenness - we just got our dsl
connection and I am now trying to get imail to talk to the rest of the
world. Current set up is as follows:
We are using our isp's dns servers.
The isp has filled out the mx record at his place to point to our internal
ten net ip via our router - I think the router does the final address
translation to the ten net ip. When I try to send mail via the imail
smtp server I get this error:
"The message could not be sent.....rejected
by the server. The rejected email address was ................, Server
Response: 550 not local host.... not a gateway........"
If I send mail to the imail server via the isp's smtp
server it does come back in - I need to test whether it will come in from
another isp (send me a message at [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you want to
help me test!!).
Some test messages that I sent earlier seem to have gotten
thru - at least the header reports that the targer received it from our
imail smtp server.....but now all is error.
So - any leads, hints, clues or outright solutions much
appreciated!
