dear mr len ,
you are right i wanna use imail as a relay host i
am facing a  problem when my linux boxes has around 100 users in each
domain and they have  to be individually authenticated on the imail

why authenticated by Imai.  The linux mail domains and users will not exist on the Imail box, cannot exist if Imail is to be a relayer.

You can achieve some 'authentification' (anti spam relaying protection) by specifying in Imail the ip addresses of the linux smtp servers.  But Imail will not be involved in the relaying traffic at the level of user authentifation.

Incoming mail for the linux smtp servers will be spooled to Imail's spool diretory until the dial-up connection is established.  all mail will then be dumped from Imail to linux smtp servers.

 the
idea is to get all the mails in a single shot  suing sendmail and  strip
the headers on the boxes and forward it to the local users.

the connection between  linux boxes and imail servers is dialup
Have the sendmail domains configure to use the smtp ETRN command to grab their mail from Imail.

Len
