When you say it is not working?  Not sending?  Not receiving? Can you telnet into the box on port 25 and strike up a SMTP conversation or does it refuse connection?   Have you got the 5.06 or 5.07 patch laying around?  Try stopping the services, set them to Manual start, then reboot.  Now apply the patch and reboot once more.  Set the services back to Automatic if it all starts back okay.   And I know someone is bound to suggest this so let me too.
