Sounds like a DNS problem. You need to have your ISP setup DNS records for
both your host and virtual host, if you have not done so. You can use the
nslookup command to see if they have setup your records

from a command line type: nslookup
from the nslookup prompt type: set type=mx
from the nslookup prompt type: xyz.co.uk

you should get back something that looks like:

xyz.co.uk mx preference = 10, mail exchanger = machine1.xyz.co.uk

This record tells people on the internet what host should recieve mail for
your domain.

Subject: [IMail Forum] mail never arrives.

OK I need some help setting up IMAIL here.
Please bear in mind this is my first time adminsitering a live server as I
am a developer and usually just have a development server, and first time
period setting up any sort of mailserver.
I do not have a DNS, my server is co-located so DNS and MX records are done
on my behalf but not by me.

OK to keep things simple
lets say my machine is called MACHINE1
my main domain is abc.com which has the IP of the server.
I also have 2 other IP setup in TCP/IP which are assigned to domains in IIS.

I have setup a default host of machine1.abc.com
with a virtual host of machine1.xyz.co.uk (NO IP for this one)
I have added 1 account to this virtual host.

Now I can login and check mail, I can send mail to this account, but the
mail never arrives, it also doesn't go to the root either. I can also send
mail using the IMAIL client from the server, and these mails will appear OK.
What am I missing.
Have I set up the hostnames correctly?? do I maybe need to use the domain
of the DNS that my server exists on ratehr than my own domain name....
