Do an Nslookup on mail.xyz.co.uk and make sure that it points to the IP
address on your server as well.
I checked mail.xyz.co.uk and found no records in DNS. So if that is your
real machine + domain name than your ISP is doing something wrong, i.e., you
can see find the domain name on your network from your DNS server, but I
cannot see it from mine on a different network with my DNS server. This
information should be available to everyone on the internet.
If you are sending your test messages from a different netowrk and DNS
server than you probably are not finding the server in DNS either.

ok i checked this and the result was exchanger = mail.xyz.co.uk
so do i just set this as the virtual host name mail.xyz.co.uk
with alias of xyz.co.uk
do i not need to have any other host setup apart from this virtual one.???
