You could do that, but I would recommend using the AddDomain and AddUser
utilities to migrate them. You can use/modify scripts posted in this forum
two or three months ago to list users and domains from the registry. After
everything is setup, copy the contents of the directories to the new
directories on the new server, switch MX records and you're done. You'll
want no incoming mail for these domains during the transfer to migrate the
files cleanly, but this can be scripted so it only takes a few minutes.

Darin.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Consolidation Tool - Is there?

Hello All,

I've done some general searching of the knowledge base and having
  come up with anything.

Does a tool exist for consolidating two IMail servers together?

I have a task at hand where I have to consolidate two servers we
have into one. There are approximately 205 domains and only two IP
addresses. The biggest thing I can see that will need adjustments
made are the $virtualxxx registry keys. I'm assuming as long as they
are unique and tie with a domain, they can be adjusted.

    For example:

      SERVER_1 has a $virtual001 that is assigned to example.com
      SERVER_2 has a $virtual001 that is assigned to example.net

As long as SERVER_1 does not have a $virtual002, I should be
able to change the registry key's name to $virtual002 and keep
      its contents the same.

If there is no existing tool, then I will turn to the ways of perl
and the Win32 perl modules to do the registry editing.
