Gil,
There is another possibility that I have not tried but should work... Delete
the workgroupshare mdb (database) then run a repair install from the control
panel. This should re-create the database and then repopulate it with the
corrected aliases.txt entries

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail 2006 User contact information...
We're in the process of installing Imail 2006.3. We ran the wgscvt.exe
utility before the alias.txt files were corrected. I have 15 users who
have over 200 personal contacts that need to be deleted. I was told by
IPswitch tech support that the only way to eliminate all of these entities
from these users is to log on as these users and delete these contacs one
at a time.
Can this possibly be correct? I'm assuming there's a reason that the
individual contacts are being stored in the master database... There IS a
reason, correct? The nice part about doing so is that you can delete the
user accounts, re-add the accounts, and the erroneous information is still
present. Any ideas? Any utilities on the way? This just seems so
completely half baked that I'm at a loss for words...
