We have used MXGuard on couple of our servers. Every time we found that the CPU usage is 100%. We were using it on a server with the following configuration

Pentium 4 3.0 GHz

2 GB RAM

The mail domains running on the server are around 350 and the users not more than 1000.

We're using mxguard (fprot & clam antivirus) and invariant's uri.

What do you mean by "too heavy"?

What is the best option if we don’t want to go with the premium antivirus and Antispam by Imail? We have checked other software available, but they are way too costly. Is there any cheap option available? We have also tried MXGuard, but it is too heavy.

Hello,

I have recently upgraded the Imail to ICS 2.01 premium edition from Imail 8.05. The problem is that there are lots of viruses which don't get detected by the Symantec Scan Engine and get delivered to the users. I have been receiving lots of complaints from the users about the virus infected emails getting delivered to them. I have updated the antivirus in the server with the latest virus definitions available from the Symantec website. I have also checked all the settings in the antivirus and the Imail and found all the settings to be fine. I was earlier using MXGuard with F-Prot and there were no virus emails getting delivered. But with ICS Premium edition, the virus emails have started pouring in the users' mailboxes. Can anybody help?

Regards,

Nitesh
