We used the Symantec Scan Engine in the past and found that it would not block virus's that were withing zip files, since then we have changed to declude with fprotect running on the same server as the mail server, and reported virus's are now at a null.

We have also blocked any form of zip file attachments in the attachment blocking feature of ipswitch, our user's can still receive zip files if they need them, they have to inform the sender to rename the file first.

Best Regards,
Rick.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Problem with Imail Antivirus

Hello,

I have recently upgraded the Imail to ICS 2.01 premium edition from Imail 8.05. The problem is that there are lots of viruses which don't get detected by the Symantec Scan Engine and get delivered to the users. I have been receiving lots of complaints from the users about the virus infected emails getting delivered to them. I have updated the antivirus in the server with the latest virus definitions available from the Symantec website. I have also checked all the settings in the antivirus and the Imail and found all the settings to be fine. I was earlier using MXGuard with F-Prot and there were no virus emails getting delivered. But with ICS Premium edition, the virus emails have started pouring in the users' mailboxes. Can anybody help?

Regards,

Nitesh
