Cold Fusion prior to MX something or another doesn't authenticate.  Make
sure those Ips are in your imail's "allowed" list.

I have suddenly started getting the following message and am unable to send
messages from our cold fusion server. We had a power failure and have had
SMTP service stop for unknown reasons twice since.
I've rebooded the server and have sopped and restarted SMTP. 
I'm running 8.22 with all the patches.

Here is what I get in the logs
