Dear list,
after an upgrade from 8.15 to 8.22 a virtual domain has stopped
receiving mail that are processed through the local smtp-service. Users
on the troublesome domain can receive mail sent through the
webmessaging, so local deliveries are fine, but remote senders gets an
smtp bounce that says:
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
(reason: 550 unknown user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>)
Telneting to the server talking to the smtp verifies users on an other
domain and aliases for the troublesome domain but says "550 unknown
user" for users. Users are located in two different external databases
and worked great until the update.
How does the smtp-service interact with the user database? Any ideas on
what might have happened are appreciated.
