Hi Kevin,

We develop .NET web apps that Mac users use, so I understand the issues that
can arise. In all fairness, it's not that Safari is cantankerous, it's that
IE and Safari (based on the Mozilla rendering engine) have significant
differences in their implementations of CSS. Since .NET is MS, Visual
Studio caters to IE, which is why I think it's important to design web GUIs
and layouts outside of VS, and then bring them into VS to add the
functionality.

I assume our user community is using a variety of versions of Safari, but
most likely OSX. I personally do not have a Mac, so I do not use Safari.

Is anything being done across the board for those who purchased/upgraded to
2006 but haven't been able to use it for almost a year now due to this major
gap in webmail functionality?

Appreciate it,

Darin.

Hello Darin,

Thanks for your feedback and yes, Safari is a bit cantankerous. Firefox/Mac
has been okay but not Safari.

It turns out we just fixed (in the last few business days) the last known
issue with Safari. We were going to demo at the last IMail Sprint last week
but webex and Safari do not get along!

This will be released in 2006.2. We will have it up and running on
webdemo.ipswitch.com in the coming weeks and you can contact me offline to
gain access and use. By the way, what version of Safari are you using?

General Availability is still being set for the 2006.2 release.

Bye for now,

kg

Kevin,

Safari support is critical to us due to a significant population of Mac
users. We have not been able to upgrade via our November 2005 purchase due
to that. In fact, we would not have made our November purchase if we had
known we could not upgrade due to lack of support for Mac users. I had
really hoped the urgency would be understood and we would see Safari support
by now. I certainly expected it in 2006.1

Please consider expediting this support. We would be extremely disappointed
to find out that our purchase last year was completely wasted due to the
loss of Mac support, which is sounds like may not be added until after our
maintenance contract expires.

We appreciate the consideration.

Darin.

Hi All,

Yes, we have added Safari support (all but the rich text editor) in the last
sprint. This will be available in an expert user program in sept/oct and to
the general public in the next release.

Bye for now,

Does the latest 2006 work with the Macintosh/Safari browser?

We now have the maibox size indicator, so we may be able to proceed with
the upgrade to 2006.1.

  Thanks,
