Turn off the monitoring service.  Then restart the web service again.

Thank you for your reply.

I rebooted the server 3 times this morning.  The logs only say this:

20060914 020856 SRVC DOWN  SMTP "SMTPD32" - Service not running (9)
20060914 020957 SRVC UP    SMTP "SMTPD32" - running
20060914 095317 SRVC DOWN  SMTP "SMTPD32" - Service not running (9)
20060914 095417 SRVC UP    SMTP "SMTPD32" - running
20060914 101652 SRVC DOWN  SMTP "SMTPD32" - Service not running (9)
20060914 101752 SRVC UP    SMTP "SMTPD32" - running

The logs were turned off for Web Messaging and turned them on in the last
hour.  So, I'm not sure why it seems to be recording events from 8 hours ago.

I ran a netstat and it does not appear to be listening on port 8383 or port 80.

It is only listening on pop3, smtp, and some other 1000 range ports.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Web Messaging is down this morning

Have you restarted the web service?  The logs?

Run a netstat on that server to see if it is listening on the correct port?  8383?

I am running IMail 7.13.

This morning it seems that the Web Messaging in our IMail is down.  It's
been working
correctly for years, but today it's down.

The Web Messaging service is "Running".

The IP Address for the domain under General > TCP/IP Address is pingable.

Through Firefox, I get "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server
at mail.example.com ."

Through Explorer, I get the search page (that I typically get when it can't
reach the server).

Settings:

Web Server Port: 80
Web File Directory: E:\Imail\Web  (and everything looks okay here)
Max. Concurrent Users: 256
Max. Attachment Size: 10240 bytes
Checked "Ignore source address in security check"
Checked "Enable Statistics"
Checked "Auto Restart Server on Apply"
Unchecked "Enable Keep Alive"

All of these *should* be correct since we haven't changed any settings in
the last several months and it's been working.

DNS returns the proper IP addresses for http://mail.example.com (sample
domain)

We have around 120 domains running on this server and Web Messaging is dead
for all of them.

Any ideas where else I should be looking to diagnose this problem?

Thanks,
Norm
