2. The connection is slow for some reason. 3. The server is slow. 4. Outlook is set to the DEFAULT mail check time of 5 minutes (we reset everyone to at least 20 minutes between e-mail check) Number 4 is usually the culprit - especially when we find that someone has set the auto-message check time to 5 minutes or less and the server is very busy. Once we change that, the problem usually goes away.
