Access 97 .mdb file lock up pretty tight when connected. I believe
Access 2000 makes .mdb's that are a little more forgiving; otherwise, go
with SQL Server 7 if you can afford it. It makes mods-on-the-fly a piece
of cake.
If you're running Access files, make sure you've got the latest MDAC
drivers from http://www.microsoft.com/data.
