Hi,

There was a problem with the DNS lookup, but I've fixed that since. For example, here are the log lines from a test I just ran:

09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) processing D:\IMail\spool\q604601880000000e.smd
09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) [x] looking up fhapc.com in HOSTS and MX
09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) Trying fhapc.com (0)
09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) [x] Connecting socket to service <SMTP> on host <fhapc.com> using protocol <tcp> 09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) [x] using source IP for mail2.bcwebhost.net [192.168.0.2] 09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) [Att-Blk] Got Attachment Blocking Host Info for mail2.bcwebhost.net
09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) MX connect fail "71.216.21.122"
09:08 10:26 SMTP-(604601880000000e) SMTP connection failed for host fhapc.com

Curiously, these log lines do not mention that strange host name, ocean.(etc.).

So I'm still stuck.

Ben

Indeed, you are correct. Maybe you have some DNS cache corruption? The DIG
output below shows it shouldn't be going to 66.224.41.6. Have you tried
restarting the QM and SMTP services?

Subject: [IMail Forum] help needed understanding log line

Hi,

We are having trouble sending messages to a particular domain (fhapc.com).
When I checked the logs, this is what I found:

09:07 00:57 SMTP-(421a018d0000ef4f) 554 Service unavailable; Client host
[mail2.bcwebhost.net] blocked by ocean.enerdzgy.org; 66.224.41.6
09:07 00:57 SMTP-(421a018d0000ef4f) Connection returned error - skipping
71.216.21.122 554 Service unavailable; Client host [mail2.bcwebhost.net]
blocked by ocean.enerdzgy.org; 66.224.41.6
09:07 00:57 SMTP-(421a018d0000ef4f) [x] using source IP for
mail2.bcwebhost.net [192.168.0.2]
09:07 00:57 SMTP-(421a018d0000ef4f) SMTP connection failed for host
fhapc.com

I don't understand the first about "blocked by ocean.enerdzgy.com". I
looked that domain name up and it shows up on some black lists, but it
doesn't appear to be a black list itself. So how can it be blocking us?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben
