Maybe I'm out of the loop on this one... but are there really laws on what
info you can or cannot "require" from users of a free e-mail service? I
keep a pretty close eye on privacy laws and the like, but I don't recall any
legislation that addresses this issue.
If I'm wrong, please correct me... but it's my view that there are thousands
of free e-mail services out there, and consequently, no one is obligated or
forced to use yours (or mine). Thus, if they don't want to provide the
required info, they get an account elsewhere, and no harm is done.
Any constructive opinions and/or legal code references would be appreciated.
