Rubens,
I had the same problem once upon a time. It got fixed when I upgraded to
5.0, but there is a work around. There is also a knowledge base article
about this, too. What I had to do was get the kill.exe file from the NT
resource kit and put that file in the IMail directory. Then I wrote a simple
batch file to run the kill command on the SMTP32.exe process. The batch file
needs to have one line in it: D:\IMAIL\KILL.EXE smtp32 (of coarse, with your
correct path). Then I used NT's AT command to schedule the batch file to run
every however often you want to run it. I ran it twice a day. Worked like a
champ.
Basically, the batch file kills any SMTP32 processes that are running and
allows IMail to process the spool. I pulled my hair out over this for
several weeks, but this should solve your problem (work around it, anyway :)
Upgrading to 5.0 or higher should also fix the problem. I hope this helps. I
can give you more details on this if you need it.
Charles
