I just encountered a new problem (or maybe an old problem).

Here is the background info
a)  running IMail v. 4.07 (soon to be 6)
b)  running Windows NT Server 4 (SP6)

Have relay SMTP turned on and include both my whole class C's.
(i.e. 204.50.130.0 255.255.255.0 and 204.50.171.0 255.255.255.0)

I also host about 100 virtual hosts (that all have their own IP).  I made their mail server names "main.domain.com" for both POP3 and SMTP.

I have a client that dials into my regular dial-in ISP (where they can access their email mail.mainserver.com no problem) but if they put their POP3 server and SMTP server as main.theirdomain.com and use their username and password, the mail client gives them an error that it could not be sent out (???).

I am not sure if this has anything to do with the new router we replaced about 2 weeks ago.  This router maintains the two Class C subnets by using static IP routing.

I am going to test something tonight.  I am going to turn on the relay for all SMTP and see if that helps.  However, ultimately, I don't want my server to run that way due to spamming problems.

Any help/input would be appreciated

Thanks
