Adrien,

The IMail Server is not answering the SMTP connection, but a firewall is.
Here is the output from a telnet session to port 25 of mail.ptm.ca:
220 CheckPoint FireWall-1 secure SMTP server

POP3 asnwers as:
+OK X1 NT-POP3 Server mail.ptm.ca (IMail 6.02 64756-3)

So your problem seems to be the time it takes the firewall to answer.
Running 2 SMTP services on the same computer is something that IMail does
not like, unless you tell IMail to use a different port for SMTP (see KB for
way to do this).
