We are beginning to evaluate iMail. However, After reading messages on this
listserve over the last couple days I have a couple of concerns that I must
resolve before implementing any type of wide range testing. Basic question,
is v5.09 more stable and usable than v6.03 ? If you were starting from
scratch, which version would you install?
Our College *MUST* have reliable WebMail access. We have a lot of
Macintosh computers on campus, as well as some older PC's with Netscape
3.03. I've been reading about a lot of problems with the WebMail component
and Macs, etc. Does this problem exist in the older v5.09 of the iMail
product, or is it a bug that was introduced in v6.0x templates?
Also, the SMTP problems I've been reading about here, is this only for the
SMTP AUTH function? Again, is this a 6.0x issue or does it also exist in
the 5.09 version?
Other than SSL and Message Search capability, is there any other compelling
reason to use v6.03 instead of v5.09?
