Actually Ipswitch posted the source code to all products on April 1. On
the same day they declared support amnesty. All products now receive free
unlimited support from Ipswitch. Ah..... the wonder of Open source.

Likewise, Microsoft is now delivering the source code to Windows 2000 at no
cost except for the shipping. However, it is printed on greenbar and does
take two tractor trailers to deliver, but the code is free.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Open source?

> A lot of the comments lately about IpSwitch's approach to this forum seem
to point in the direction of one wider industry trend: open source. As a
silent observer, I've noticed many users who take pride in the fact that 1)
they are responsible for some of the KB postings, 2) that they personally
identified bugs in new releases/features before anyone else, or 3) that
they solve each others' problems before hearing back from IpSwitch support.
The mere fact that so many participate actively on this list is a testament
that people are willing to volunteer their time for the betterment of the
product. Whether you recognize it or not, these are the fundamental makings
of open source projects (e.g. www.horde.org, www.apache.org, etc.). Wonder
how many times the idea has come up at IpSwitch internal meetings?
>
> As a side note, does IpSwitch have a beta testing program where people can
get their hands on pre-releases?
