Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] attachment issue in Web mail
Hi Cal et al...

This sounds like a valuable resource.
One way to approach the attachments issue is to push for lowest
common denominator documents - text or rich text, GIF or JPEG -
especially in mixed platform environments. Any thoughts as to what
direction you'll take on this?
Cal>> We're already somewhat used to this, being a mixed Mac and Windoze
shop. I might go so far as to include Word 2/Win or Word 5/Mac, but perhaps
not. Spreadsheet files are another nightmare. Generally, I was thinking of a
"put yourself in the mind of the recipient" guideline--Send a format only if
you know they're using the program, don't nest attachments, include a
"least-common denominator" format file IN ADDITION, just in case, etc.

Perhaps posted to a website, as well, so one can just include a clickable
URL?
Cal>> I was intending to put the links on our web messaging intro page, the
send mail page, and our regular WWW site with the other help documents.
Do you suppose your docs will be available to others of us?
Cal>> Of course. It's the least I can do in return for all the assistance
I've received here!
