Greetings, We are running iMail 6.03 (w/ latest patch) on a dual PIII 550 with 512MB RAM, Windows NT 4.0 and SP6a. We have a user who checks mail every minute with a Netscape Communicator 4.5 client. Occasionally, he leaves that client up and logs in via the web interface to administer his virtual domain. His index became corrupt and Ipswitch support said to delete the server and client index files and all will synchronize. That's fine. But, support can not tell me the root cause of the failure. Has anyone seen this before, and specifically with Netscape? If so, what is the shortest auto-check time you have seen work reliably. (support says 5 minutes). My assumption is that the indices get corrupted because iMail does not lock the mailbox while it is being used by the other client. And I have asked the user to login to his mailbox with just one client at a time; and to have his program check mail only every 5 minutes. He would prefer to keep it as-is without the error. His reasoning is that our former server allowed it and he wants it that way. Frankly, I don't understand why it can't work that way either, but for a "bug" in iMail failing to lock the box upon the first access???
