Hi all,
I am trying to use the command line utilities provided with Imail to setup
virtual e-mail domains. I wanted to set this up without providing access to
the GUI interface so that there is a singe simple method for setting up the
mail domains. I have found two problems.
1. The AddDomain.exe utility creates the domain correctly but only creates
part of the directory structure that is needed for the mail domain. The
Users subdirectory does not get created. This causes the AddUser.exe utility
to claim that the user was created without a problem, and the user is in
fact created, but the user mailbox doesn't exist. This causes the web
administrative utilities to diplay no information about the users mail, and
does not allow any maintenance of the user through this interface.
2. The AddUser.exe utility provides a mechanism for creating a user with
several attributes. One of the attributes that I need to accomplish setting
up a domain through the command line is the ability to define a user as the
domain administrator. This option is provided through the GUI interface, but
does not exist through the command line interface. I see no way to get
around using the GUI do to this.
I have been able to create the directory needed for the Users, and this
allows the rest of the users problems to go away except the administrator
problem.
I am running the I-mail 6.02 release on Windows NT 4.0 SP6.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate hearing about tthem.
Ron C.
