John,

The problem, in your case, is the username, not the host/domain name.
IMail's limit is 30 characters and yours is 31 (if I counted correctly). If
the name is too long, not sure what IMail might do, and that could even be
somewhat version dependant. I have created a user of the same name in my
domain, and using POP3, was able to login multiple times without any
password changes.

I then used that account via Web Messaging (not sure what you are referring
to as WMC) and again, I was succesful in logging in/out several times.
Finally I created a domain of that name as a virtual host, no IP and created
the same named user and again all was well in both Web MSG and POP3.

That leaves only one thing left, the database you are using (I used IMail's
internal in above testing!). I did see a user with Oracle DB and an old dll
(8 fields instead of required 9) and she had a similiar problem (password
changing). Did you have a pre V5.04 of IMail? That would have the old dll
and both the dll and the DB table should be updated to work with newer
versions of IMail. Are you using some other modified version of the
odbcuser.dll? If so, try with the standard dll and see if that works.
