Over the weekend I moved IMail 5.05 to a new server. I followed all the
recommended procedures posted in the Imail knowledge base but nonetheless
ran into a problem.
After moving the Imail folder to the new server and restoring the saved
IMail registry settings, I found that nearly all service parameters were
reset to different values. In particular, SMTP, SMTP Security, Monitoring
and others all had to be individually entered again. Luckily I had
carefully written all this info down before the move and I simply had to
take the extra time to re-enter all the info before I could let users back on.
Anyone know why the move and registry restore failed and if there might be
any other issues lurking about that I didn't find? I hate the feeling that
this wasn't a clean and troublefree move.
