Marc,

In IMail, if you set up this domain as "mail.abc.com" with an alias domain of "abc.com" then all user accounts will defaultly inherit the "mail.abc.com" in their address.  You (or each of them) can individually change it in the personal options, but it will need to be done individually.

We made this same mistake with the first few dozen domains we setup on our IMail server when we migrated to it last fall.  When adding new accounts to any of these first few domains, we take it upon ourselves to edit the user's address to omit the "mail." portion of it.  It takes a couple extra seconds, but it saves many extra minutes of tech support.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Changing the domain name

Hi,

I have Imail running on a server named mail, and everywhere in the Web messaging templates that Imail uses the @<!--IMAIL.CurrentDomain--> tag it shows the domain as being mail.abc.com, so email addresses showup as [EMAIL PROTECTED] . I have an alias so that users can ignore the "mail" part and just have their addresses as [EMAIL PROTECTED] , but the address still shows up with the mail when they log in via web messaging, and some of them are confused by it.

Is there somewhere in the administrator that I can change the setting so that web users see their email address as [EMAIL PROTECTED] , or do I have to go through all the templates and alter them directly? (A quick search showed I'd have to alter 180 templates! )

Thanks in advance,

Marc
