So what you are saying is because I don't relay for USWest. The mail server
thinks that AOL.com is local to it? Hence, the error.

Mark,

The IMail "SMTP-" processes are the ones that send mail (to AOL).

So why are you showing us the "SMPTD" server (receiving) process log
lines? Above the MTA at 63.225.16.17 is sending mail to your SMTPD
process, which says [EMAIL PROTECTED] is not an local mail accnt known to Imail.

That ip:

# dig -x 63.225.16.17

; <<>> DiG 8.2 <<>> -x
;; res options: init recurs defnam dnsrch
;; got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NXDOMAIN, id: 4

                                         1D ) ; minimum

... is not present in the reverse zone but ns1.uswest.net is the
authoritative DNS for the reverse zone.

What you're showing us is that you are having trouble receiving mail for
@aol.com.  :-)))

Sanity check (mine, not yours): here's the same situ showing my server
being spammed from korea to an unknown accnt "tteoac" on my server:

01:08 16:53 SMTPD(0CF90496) [62.161.87.73] connect 202.188.0.185 port 48835
01:08 16:53 SMTPD(0CF90496) [202.188.0.185] HELO weblock.

01:08 16:53 SMTPD(0CF90496) [202.188.0.185] ERR ms1.meiway.com invalid user
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]

btw, that ip reverses to myanmmar, probably an open relay:

;; ANSWER SECTION:
185.0.188.202.in-addr.arpa. 1D IN PTR weblock.tm.net.my.

The above was last January, a couple of months before I installed
IMGate. .kr and .my don't bother me anymore.
