You do need a host name for an MX record. The host name can also be defined
later in the database by a CNAME or an A record.

Subject: [IMail Forum] MX entry question from a newbie
Newbie hoping for some help:
I installed imail on my webserver and made the followign MX record
modifications.
Host Name Priority Mailserver
domainname.com X-Hi domainname.com
domainname.com Hi www.domainname.com
Is the above correct? Or should I use the machine name or IP address for the
Mailserver instead of the domainname?
I made the MX change on Friday and email sent to my domainname addresses are
still bouncing back.
Thanks in advance.
Reid
