Dale,

I would have to say that there is some configuration problem with your IMail
system!

Here is a copy of the SMTP session that I just tried (to the .3 address)
that confirms your systems response. That IMail cannot VRFY your username,
at the e-pubcorp.com address, tells me that you either do not have a domain
of that name, or an 'Alias' for that domain.

220 X1 NT-ESMTP Server horizonint.com (IMail 6.00 214-1)
vrfy dale.chavez
250 ok its for <dale.chavez>
vrfy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
250 ok its for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
vrfy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 unknown user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
The first 250 line tells me that dale.chavez, is a user in the host which I
connected to (horizonint.com!), the second tells me that IMail confirms the
above. the third, tells me that the e-pubcorp.com, is not a domain known to
IMail. If I use the .2 address instead, that reports the same 'Official Host
Name' (horizonint.com), which it would not, if you configured that IP for
the other domain!

If you wish IMail to 'Store and Forward' (accept the mail, hold and then
deliver to another server) the email for e-pubcorp.com, then consult the
manual and/or KB for details on doing that.

If you want to use a single domain to allow several different addresses
(after the @), then you need to add an Alias, to horizonint.com, that has
'e-pubcorp.com'. If you are attempting to user a Virtual Domain, without and
IP, that 'e-pubcorp.com' domain needs to be configured and you will need to
create users in that domain. (actually there are several variations, and I
would need to know what you are trying to do to tell you how it would be
setup.)

BTW, if you expect mail from the outside world, for e-pubcorp.com to get to
your IMail server, you do need to have a MX record for that domain (I did
not find one, when I checked DSN!). The IP that I see in your log, does not
agree with the IP I find for e-pubcorp.com (you probably have the IP of the
web server for that domain and with that, the MX record becomes the ONLY way
email will be routed to the correct place).

BTW2 - an entry in the HOSTS file is not needed, for any secondary domains,
in IMail. Only for the Primary IP and host name, and for domains for which
IMail will be doing Store and Forward, need HOSTS file entries. Yours points
back to one of the other IPs you have assigned to the computer. If you
installed IMail on th ePrimary IP and used a 'Official Host Name' that is
different from the Host and Domain names in the TCPIP settings, then you
will need a HOSTS file entry, too.
