Not following the advice I give others, I applied the 6.04 patch as soon as it came out, only to find that our Eudora mail clients are having some trouble with this version.
I haven't had any pb's between Eudora3 to 4.3.2 and Imail 3 - 6 since 1997, 'cept for the SMTP AUTH.
Users are receiving messages with no body.
sounds like French beer.
Updating the clients makes no difference and it is happening on both Macs and PCs. Eudora v. 4.2 and 4.3 if you are interested. Outlook receives the messages fine, as does the web messaging (which I have been suggesting as the current workaround)
God knows Eudora has enough problems
YMMV, mine sure does.
and I am pretty much convinced that it is some non-standard Eudora problem, but so far the only pattern I can draw is that it is related to messages with HTML formatting sent through our Imail server and received by the Eudora clients and that it started happening the day I patched the Imail server.
So I guess I have two questions:
1) Have any of you encountered this behavior?
not at all.
2) Do any of you know how to downgrade the server.
I don't think that's the best approach, first...
Can you create an account on your server lconrad@whatever and send it a msg and I'll check it with my EPro 4.3.2?
Are they any errors in the immail logs?
paste this into eudora.ini
[debug]
LogLevel=96
to get byte-level logging.
