What kind of load is this machine carrying? Is Imail the only thing
running? How many users, how much ram etc. etc. What kind of NIC? How is
it connected to the Internet?

I don't agree because simple becasue memdt.org is in the mail from:,
it really doesn't exist, AND it's probably being sent to the remote
server who says it doen't exist.
ok, let's take that as a hypothesis, a random occurrence. Can you
search the log where slyon has sent valid mail with an unscrabled
"mail from:" ?
Does this happen repeatedly for slyon? or just once?
Does it happen to other users?
