ok

Bill,

"A network error occurred while Netscape was receiving data.
(Network Error: connection reset by peer) Try connecting again."

... is mid-transfer situation , ie, after any SMTP AUTH has succeeded
and the mail is in transfer, but SMTP AUTH applies only to, uh,
"SMTP" connections, and, IIRC, the above message is from the NS HTTP
client, the browser, NOT Messener, no?

Anyway, even if it's Messenger, it's the POP3 side messenger that
"receiving data" / reading mailboxes, not the SMTP side which is used
only for sendint outgoing mail. So POP3 AUTH also is totally separate
from your SMTP security settings.

I've seen your error mgs for years in NS browser with certain HTTP
sites. But since I don't use Messenger, maybe NS uses the same error
msg for HTTP browser and POP3/SMTP errors.

If the above err msg is occurring with web mail, as I suspect, and
not Messenger, then your Imail __SMTP__!! security policies are
irrelevant to your web mail HTTP events.

summary: your SMTP security settings are the best ones, the web mail
security is only the user login. What's happening with the above
error? I dunno.
