I was intrestingly following this thread, as we've experienced the same kind of 
problems.
What I was thinking about was this:

Does this mean that the doc files can be safely removed/deleted from the spool 
directory where they reside ?

And about the IWMxxx.tmp files, can they be safely removed/deleted from the spool 
directory where they reside as well ?
