so take out all mx records referring to hosts on the imail machine?

you have to have an MX record, but instead of
;zone: dial.it
@ MX 10 imail.dial.it.
you have
@ MX 10 imgate.dial.it.
Imail is no longer in MX records so not very findable by spammers who
send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Imail remains in A records for
access for POP3 and SMTP AUTH.
I just brought up an IMGate at an Imail ISP on the US East coast this
morning. He's happy, his Imail machine can breathe again.
