Ha, I'm already finished "working on it".

If you use IMgate (aka a HUGE solution for HUGE problems), then the
Imail list devliveries "send all mail through gateway" always
succeed, immediately!, at LAN speeds, without DNS lookups, into
Imgate as that gateway, Imail is done. Then IMGate does the final
list deliveries to Internet, with hundreds of aggressive SMTP agents
trying, and re-trying, to deliver the list.  Get announcements lists
and newsletters out in timely manner, not in 24 hours, and turn
discussion list msgs around in minutes, not hours.
