There is no guaranteed way, and no "official" way. And, in most cases you just can't
pull it off automatically.
First, there's a good chance that their name is in the "From:" header (IE "Real Name"
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>). However, that can be forged of course, along with the rest of the
headers.
Ident is a protocol that can't be used to get a real name from an address, but can be
used if someone is connected to you to find out their account name. It's unlikely to
be too useful, as not many people are running Ident clients.
The other way would be to search on the Internet. Look at newsgroup postings, or in
one of the "White Pages" directories.
Also, some LDAP servers might have the information available.
But, there is no easy or guaranteed way to do it (at least that I know of).
