Phil,

Not what I have seen! If the user or domain is unknown, the remote indicates
this when IMail tries to send, and that address is removed from the
addresses yet to be processes and a postmaster message is sent to the list
owner.

Marc,

This is not normal. Scott's suggestion about the Log files will help you
find out more about what IMail is doing. Could even be the remote server
closing the connection prematurely and log will tell us that.

How are you manipulating the user.txt and user.lst files? I have see
instances where invalid (and invisible) characters in these files cause
problems. A technique I have used it to chop the file in half, then try each
half in turn. If one does not cause any problem, it is OK and if one does,
then half again and try each half. Continue the process and you can get
closer to the problem entry.

Had the same problem myself and have stopped using the list facility.
It seems that when it cannot deliver a message ie. unknown mailbox it tries
to redeliver all the messages again.

cheers

This is my 2nd posting of this message. Has this happened to anyone? Can
anyone offer some suggestions?

Each time I post to my list it will email the recipients 2 OR more
times.

Below is the Imail environment for my list:

    *Private list
    *Posting by Moderator only
    *List members ~ 43,000
*SMTP processes allocated in registry = 60
*SMTP processes used for list = 25
    *Users per SMTP process = ~ 1,720
    *Imail 6.05
*List posting ocurrs off-peak at 23:55 PST
*User.lst has been "scrubbed" fro dupliactes, invalid users, hosts &
local users(to avoid looping).
*Hardware & resources is NOT an issue.

    Any suggestions?
