Are you moving and renumbering your DNS servers also, if you are you'll need
to update
the domain records to coincide with the move. When we renumbered a couple
months ago we ran
four dns servers, two on the old addresses and two on the new until everyone
got the
domain records updated -- waiting for our customers added an extra month of
waiting.
We submitted a "bulk" update to NetSol with at least one weeks lead time,
otherwise
we would have had to manually update all the domain records. On other
registrars we did
in fact have to do one at a time. And in several case the customers had to
find user
names and passwords to edit the domains.
But, as Len mentioned drop all your TTLs to 1 hour or 3600 ASAP, the sooner
you drop the
expiration time the sooner the old IPs will expire when you move. Remember,
if your TTL
is set to 86400 (24hrs) then i my DNS server gets the old address it will
not look for
the address again for 24hrs.
Good luck...

Subject: [IMail Forum] Server Move!
Hello Gang,
I am planning on moving our server this weekend and will have to change our
IP's for 50+ websites and email. This is a question for the DNS guru's. Is
there a way to force these new IP's to be sent out to all the other DNS's
out there. I know from experience that many DNS's do not refresh very
often. However some do.
Sincerely,
Grant Griffith, Vice President
