By any chance are both the email address and the username set to
username%domain.com in Netscape?

No numbers, it just keeps bouncing back asking for the password.
1. set up as user%domain.com SMTP mail.domain.com asks for password
2. set up as user SMTP mail.domain.com asks for password
3. set up as user&[EMAIL PROTECTED] asks for password.
Once again, virtual IP'less setup....
user%domain.com works great with POP3 for retreiving mail...
