This is an edited re-post. I removed some Ipswitch employee names from
original because I assume they are filtering those messages since my
original didn't get posted!
One problem that may be a factor here is that there is a bug in 6.06 (and
all 6.0x versions) of Imail regarding the logs. I reported this bug several
months ago, but have never heard back from Ipswitch. XXX XXXX (edited out)
of Ipswitch
verified the bug with me on the phone.
Here's the bug:
I have my Imail PROGRAM files on my C: and my USER and SPOOL files on a
dedicated D: drive. I set the appropriate settings in Imail to log to D:.
Imail SPLITS THE LOGS between the D: drive (majority of SMTP logs, ZERO POP3
logs), and C: (which should not contain ANY logs but incorrectly contains
ALL POP3 logs, and a few SMTP logs).
If he is looking on any drive other than C: he will not find any POP3 logs.
There is apparently and error hard coded into Imail 6.0x to put all POP3
logs on C: and it IGNORES your settings for the location of such logs. It's
a shame that Ipswitch has known about this for MONTHS (I know I reported it
on November 17, 2000 but I don't think that was the first report I made) and
they have failed to correct the bug. Several patches and version upgrades
have been released since that report.
