We are looking at adding a tape drive to our imail server and have a couple questions
(we will have about 1500 mail users total and are a K-12 school district):

1. Is there a large impact to the server as far as running/responding to
mail requests if we are backing up the machine at the same time? (We will
run the backup off-hours so I think POP/IMAP access should be minimal
    and SMTP minimal as well)

2. Will all items in the imail directory and registry be able to be backed up
    if the services are running?

3. Is there a reason that we need to use DLT to be as fast as possible or
    will DDS4 be sufficient?

4. Is the backup utility included with Win2K Server a good choice for
performing the backup or should we get something else?

thanks for the Ideas...
bob
