Steve,
Two options are considered "safe":
- Allow relay for certain IP ranges only
AND/OR
- Use SMTP Authentication on all your clients
We use a combination of both.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Mail relay question
We are using imail 6 and have been getting spam relay through our email
server.
I tried the relay for local hosts only and relay for local users only
option,
however when I do that, then messages from aol, yahoo, etc. get bounced. If
I use the relay option based on ip addresses of the user, will messages from
outside sources (aol, yahoo, etc.) still get
bounced? What are the best options to use, to stop spam relay?
Thanks,
STeve
