Could you elaborate on that? The Outlook 2000 clients are set up to pull the
mail via POP so it happens no only within the web interface of Imail but
also if you pull it in via POP with Outlook 2000.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Have you checked to see if the name filename is also different if you
download via POP3?
It may be that Outlook is using one of their proprietary protocols, such as
the winmail.dat file that will encode things in a way that only another
Microsoft product will be able to decode them.
