Hmm.. Not sure what you are trying to ask..  If you are asking if all 
attachments are processed through your spool directory... Yes, they are.

When your machine gets them, they are UUEncoded.  Then when the end users 
machine downloads them, they get UUDecoded into the files you look at or 
work with.

This is for added security against scripts and programs that may have an 
effect on your server.

More and more ISP's are offering SPAM and Vairus filtering for the clients 
in order to have an added value service and decrease the amount of tech 
calls into the call center.

In most cases, virus infected files sent through email are not a problem 
for the server unless you have some sort of software that UUDecodes and 
works with either scripts or executibles.  In most cases, you would not, 
but I have seen some softwares that work with files on the server side.

Depending on the number of users you have in your email system.. There are 
some good virus/spam filters on the commercial market that can take care of 
it for you..  A couple to mention would be located at Declude.com (declude 
virus & junkmail) and Omniquad.com (mailwall enterprise).
