Yes, that does work. That is exactly how I've handled our company name change from blclinks.net to intouchmi.com. I have the hostname as mail.intouchmi.com, and have aliases of intouchmi.com, mail.blclinks.net, blclinks.net. I do end up doing this often, as this is also how I handle customers who get all of the tld's for their domain, such as company.com, company.net, and company.org. They generally do not want three new mail domains/hosts, just need one, but they want to make sure that they get their messages no matter what domain they use. - Tony > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Joshua Levitsky > Sent: Monday, August 20, 2001 3:39 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Multiple Domains and 1 mailbox > > > Couldn't you make the main host lets say mail.domain1.com in this case and > make aliases of > > domain1.com domain2.com domain3.com > > And then make your MX records for all three come to lets say > mail.domain1.com > > So then all the mail should be recieved for all three domains to > one domain. > > just a theory. sounds like it would work. > > -Josh > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Richard Kingsley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Monday, August 20, 2001 3:24 PM > Subject: [IMail Forum] Multiple Domains and 1 mailbox > > > > Hi, > > > > I have a client which has 4 domains names, that they wish to > recieve email > > for in one box ie > > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] are all > intended > > for the same person. > > > > Can I do this without creating 4 mail hosts and forwarding to one > > > > > > Thanks for your help > > > > > > Richard > > > > > > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html > > to be removed from this list. > > > > An Archive of this list is available at: > > http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ > > > > > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html > to be removed from this list. > > An Archive of this list is available at: > http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
